Laios Goldbeck

As a composer working on interesting and challenging projects, I constantly explore new ways to elevate the visual message or storytelling with the audio.

This can not only be achieved by the music itself, but the mix and sound design also play a huge part in the worldbuilding and the emotional state of the viewer.

Therefore my goal is always to make the music work together seamlessly with the rest of the film.

Education

Since I have been playing instruments my whole life, learning how to mix and master my compositions seemed like the next logical step.

After teaching myself for two years I studied Music Production & Sound Engineering at the Abbey Road Institute in Berlin, where I learned from accomplished engineers like Peter Walsh (Stevie Wonder, Simple Minds) and Sascha "Busy" Bühren (Moby, Rea Garvey).

I studied Digital Music Production once more at the ILS in Hamburg to deepen my knowledge and expertise.

Work Experience

From independent filmmakers to one of the biggest employers in Germany, I have worked with many different creative directors and producers working on films and games, as well as some more abstract media composing.

Orchestrating for recording sessions and mixing advertisements to be shown in cinemas, have also been challenges I enjoyed to overcome and figure out.

At the end of the day, the relationship to the director of the project, and good communication are some of the most important aspects for a successful collaboration to me.

The Studio

Located in the artist's city Berlin, I set up my production & mixing studio with all the gear I need to create an impactful piece of music.

The studio includes many instruments, among which are also the basics, such as piano, guitars and digital instruments.

It also features a recording booth as well as recording equipment, such as trusty microphones that I have worked with for a long time.
